Rockport 2014 Convention Site

by: Scott Sanders, Regional Director

I contacted several of the folks down in Rockport on the heels of the storm offering to fly people (in or out) or supplies down to them as soon as the airport was opened. Due to the power outages it was a couple of days before they were able to respond. They were very grateful and said they'd contact us when they knew more about what they needed. In the meantime, Susan and some of her local buds gathered up more than a planeload of supplies and we waited to hear from them about when to come down.

In a short period of time, the water levels receded and they got the roads opened up to vehicle traffic so an "airlift" really never became necessary. Susan drove down in her car, packed to the roof with the stuff she'd collected and handed things out herself. Some photos are included.
