Below are tentative plans for a weekend fly-in in Kingsville, Texas. The main attraction is the King Ranch, but there are many other things to see and do, as you can see from the proposed itinerary below.

Susan has talked to all the Kingsville businesses and people involved and they are very interested and excited to have us. Prices are close estimates, depending on the turnout. All the merchants, including the hotel, have given us a 24 hour cancellation window, so weather should not be an issue.

At this point, Im planning to rent a 15 passenger van and have 2-3 other cars lined up as a back up. May need a little donation to help cover the cost of the van. I can rent more vehicles if needed.

The Kleberg County Airport (KIKG)is 10 miles west of town so the arrival window would need to be by noon Friday if at all possible. Saturday arrivals would need to be in before 12:30 p.m., as the King Ranch Tour begins at 1:00 and cannot be changed.

We will be able to make additional trips to and from the airport if necessary, but there are activities planned for Friday afternoon that you will not want to miss! The airport has plenty of parking but very limited tie-down space so bring your tie-downs. The manager is going to give us a break on fuel prices, but that the price not been determined yet.

Something else to consider: our good friends, Joyce and Henry Bynum, have offered to host us in their home for a nilgai spaghetti dinner on Friday night. They also have a trophy room, as Henry is a world renowned big game hunter and donates thousands of dollars to conservation. His trophy room will put any Cabelas or Bass Pro to shame.

We need to get back with all the Kingsville folks to reserve the dates, etc. so please review the itinerary below and let us know if you would like to attend. We'd like to hear from everyone as soon as possible so we can block the right number of rooms.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Scott
