AYA is the international type club for owners and pilots of Grumman American light aircraft. Grummans are renowned as fun, sporty, efficient, and safe personal aircraft with relatively simple systems, offering more performance at a lower cost than comparable models of other types.

NEW AYA FORUM
It's ready! It's going on line as of TODAY and it's eager to host all of your comments, your innermost thoughts, and your helpful advice.... It's the new, long awaited, AYA FORUM and it’s open to all and sundry. My thanks to Richard Hinsley, Steve Roberts and Don Metz who have been hard at work formulating this new chapter in AYA history and I doff my hat to them. The new AYA Forum is based on a very popular layout and uses methods and layout utilised by very many other types of Forums (or should that be Forii? Latin scholars please speak up).
1) It is simple to use, each topic is separate within its own specific area of interest.
2) We've been testing it for a while now and hopefully all the glaring glitches have been addressed.
3) Now that it is open you are cleared to subscribe. You will be able to link to it either directly using http://www.ayaforum.org as the internet address (or via the AYA website www.aya.org ). If you have any problems subscribing give Steve Roberts a call on forumadmin@aya.org
4) There is already an index of Forums on what we think cover most subject areas:-Eg:
A Help forum + AYA Gatherings + Maintenance + Piloting + Safety + Aviation Stuff for sale and even one for ranting on about non-aviation things. These subjects may be added to in light of what YOU intrepid aviation nuts want.
5) Within each Forum subject area are the 'Topics' each one a separate discussion about a specific thing of interest. At the moment there are a number of topics being discussed between us testers Eg: Under the AYA Gatherings Subject we have topics such as: 2008 Convention + Board Languages + A Poll about the Leicester Bacon Butty Fly-in (Yes! We can hold polls - some serious, some madcap) and a few more things as well.
6) What's also nice is that you are able to post pictures to help describe your new bit of kit, to help tell people of something nice you've seen etc. As an example; The recent postings about control yoke coverings could be greatly enhanced with a picture of what you’ve accomplished. (How to actually post a picture is explained - and believe me, if I can do it, then so can you!)
7) You can even have your very own Avatar (a little picture alongside your name which you can use to describe your personality! Let your imaginations roll!)
8) You don't have to use your real name!! Choose a nice nom-de-plume (Have no fear though - The Moderators will know who you are!!!) The Moderators? They are the people who see fair play, to ensure nothing abusive, rude, obscene or downright nasty gets left on the site. There are guidelines as to behaviour at the start of every subject forum. Basically it's - If you don't want your children or your mother to read/see it then don't post it.
Wishing that you all had a very merry Christmas and hope that you all achieve a safe, exciting and forum fulfilling, New Year. Ni

True Flight Aerospace Lands Tiger Aircraft in Valdosta, GA
It’s official. True Flight Aerospace has selected Valdosta, GA as the site for it’s new 60,000 square foot manufacturing plant. For the past several months leaders at True Flight Aerospace, LLC – the manufacturing arm of True Flight Holdings, LLC – have been quietly visiting sites all over the southeast.
According to True Flight CEO, Kevin Lancaster, the decision was a tough one but in the end the support of the state and local leadership made Valdosta the clear choice. “Valdosta is a great location. It has the infrastructure, skilled labor pool and forward looking leaders that continue to attract new businesses to the area,” he said.
The new facility will be located at the Valdosta Regional Airport on approximately 14 acres of land with an option for an additional 11 acres. Once completed, the plant will have space to bring many of the previously outsourced processes on site. According to Loyd Montague, Vice President and COO, “a key to controlling costs will be True Flight’s ability to perform more of its own manufacturing. Our previous facility was primarily an assembly plant. Here we will have the ability to better control our production schedules and costs by bringing critical operations in house.”
“The project is already well under way. We hope to move into our new facility by the first of the year or shortly thereafter. In the meantime we have leased space on the airport to allow us to open our repair station and bring all the tooling and inventory to Valdosta for staging our start up” Lancaster reports. “Unlike starting from scratch, we already know the FAA approved procedures and systems required to build the Tiger. With a core of experienced Tiger builders from the former operation we will train a new local team of up to 150 people much in the way a franchise start up is conducted. The Tiger is such a great airframe that we don’t have to reinvent the wheel.”
True Flight Aerospace, LLC will build the popular AG5B Tiger commonly known as a “Grumman” Tiger. Plans include several option levels ranging from a basic VFR aircraft all the way up to the Garmin G-1000 electronic flight deck.

Though fondly referred to by most owners as "Grummans," these aircraft were originally manufactured by American Aviation and later by Grumman and Gulfstream before going out of production during the 1980s. American General produced Tigers in the early 1990s, and in 2001 Tiger Aircraft once again began building Tigers. The Grumman line includes:
